Legacy Box as a Service - LBaaS -
Large corporate enterprise businesses and small/medium businesses all share the same challenges when it comes to managing and delivering legacy applications.
Legacy can be divided into two categories:
1
Applications that run on older platforms that even though they do have the ability to be upgraded the upgrade cannot he performed due to the platform hosting them cannot be upgraded. For example, old hardware devices that do not support new operating systems. Windows XP or Windows 7 for example.
2
Applications that can be described as “heritage”. That means a newer version is not available as the application may be bespoke, written for a particular use case, and therefore must stay as it is, running on the OS and hardware it was originally designed for.
Legacy Box Managing delivery, and more importantly, securIng applications.
Legacy Box enables organisations to take their legacy or heritage applications, containerise them (no re-packaging or re-factoring required), and deliver them to any modern Windows operating system.
The delivery can be local, running on the end user’s device, or delivered as a service from the cloud using the Legacy Box legacy apps as a service model.
Delivering from the cloud means that organisations no longer have legacy application running or hosted internally, allowing them to easily pass any cyber security certifications.
End users simply log on to the Legacy Box cloud service and access their applications running on our cloud platform. As we are running on our platform it removes any risk and reduces costs of having to maintain older infrastructure.
If you are an MSP, you can deliver the Legacy Box solution as a managed service directly from your cloud hosting platform, offering a complete subscription-based service for managing and delivering legacy application for your customers.
